Growl is a third party application that provides additional functionality to OS X system and enjoys a popularity among Mac users. However, instead of installing it by dragging its icon to the Application folder, uninstalling Growl may need you to do more than a simple drag-and-drop to the Trash. Works well and continues to be compatible with the latest iTunes version as of this review (12.6). Price on website is a much more reasonable $4.00 rather than the $11.99 currently shown on MacUpdate. https://browntemplate905.weebly.com/cant-open-unidentified-app-on-mac.html. You can also use the GROWl app to send a notification informing you when the action has been completed. It is wonderful. After writing the note, all I have to do is click print with PDFwriter and it is converted to a PDF and filed in the correct folder.
I'm trying to get rid of Growl.
Checked both the Application and the Utilities folder, don't see Growl anywhere.
Did a search for Growl - a long list of items shows up but when I narrow it down to 'Applications' - nada
I still found the original .dmg file when I first installed it - it actually has an uninstaller with it - nice!
but when I try to use that I get:
You can’t open the application “Uninstall Growl” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
-------------
As an aside -
When I upgraded from SnowLeopard to ElCapitan, there was only one application that was identified as not being compatible with ElCapitan.
No I find more and more applications that were transferred to ElCapitan that are either PowerPC only or where I can't even find the application like with Growl.
I though migrating from SL to ElCap would have identified all the PowerPC apps.

Select USB in the sidebar, then select a USB bus on the right. Do any apps allow usb streaming to a mac. For example, if you connect a USB 3 device to USB 2 port, your device is limited to USB 2 speeds, and it can't draw more power from the port than can be delivered over USB 2. In other words, to get the best performance, make sure that the USB port on your Mac and the USB cable to your device meet or exceed the USB specification of the device itself. If your Mac doesn't recognize a USB device after you plug it into your Mac:. USB specifications all work with each other, but speed and power are limited by the cable or device that uses the earliest specification.
